Artist Statement:

I seek to unravel the erased and deeply soulful narratives embedded in personal identity, excavating the most tender moments between family and home. Re-imagining figurative portraiture, my work shifts the historical expectations of communal labor, specifically by womxn/people of color, to visible, celebratory touchstones of comfort and sanctuary. I focus on instinct and intuition–in drawing and with drawings–as a repressed yet natural connection to rest, safety, belonging, and homestead, or in a word: survival..
